What is OP Gauss?
« on: April 12, 2012, 08:20:20 am »
OP Gauss is a closed channel for Diablo 2 Hardcore Ladder players on the Europe realm and a Diablo 3 Private Community

Who are we looking for?
Nice, legit players.

If you are only looking for Baal Runs or power levelling in either game, go away!

Principles of the Gauss community
* Friendly
* Safe
* Fair
* Legit

The rules can be changed by members by collecting signature for an initiative and getting a vote if this succeeds.

How can i join?
* Read the documentation (this post and the command list in D2), it's annoying to tell everyone separately how the channel works when there is good and short documentation.
* Register on this forum. After you have registered, login and fill in your profile with your b.net accounts and JSP name if you use it.
* Get a vouch by a senior member or op of the gauss channel. Make a post in the applications, and ask your buddy to vouch for you. Sorry, but this is necessary.
* Accept the Rules: behave, so that the channel is a fun and safe place for all.
** Be a good citizen. Participate in the channel, help others, get involved!
** Never message the gauss game password in Diablo 2 to anyone and anywhere. If you do, you will possibly get exiled or at least timebanned for a week.
** Don't grab. If you are in a Diablo 2 run, the runner normally has first pick at drops. In normal games, ask. If you picked it up anyway, DON'T IDENTIFY IT and ask for it.
** Don't cheat. And no, there are no harmless cheats.
** Don't pk unfairly.
** Some runs have special rules, please ask the game host if unsure
** See more details in the thread

* Post in the  forum, with the template below and include your nick in the title to make it easier for ops to track applications.
* To save time, ask your voucher to reply to your post immediately.
*  and add your accounts on B.NET, DIII.net (if you have) and d2jsp.org (if you have).

When can I use the channel?
Wait for a reply to your post which states you are safeadded. Don't enter the channel before the reply! The bot will kick and ban you right away in Diablo 2 and in Daiblo 3 you just won't get in ;)

How do I get started in Diablo 2?
After you have been added, just "/join op gauss". You will get a greeting information from the bot:
* Check your .rank and ask your voucher to get promoted to newcomer. Otherwise, you can't use the .password and entering gauss games will get you, and the one who told you the password, banned.
* If you trade on JSP get added to the gauss friend list. (See the member part of the forum for details).
* Get to know the members of the channel, you can use .meminfo to see how trustworthy someone is. Get involved in the channel, leechers will be removed.
* use the .help command for pointers.
* Right click on the bot to get some important commands.

For complete information see the command list

How do I get started in Diablo 3?
*start chatting and making friends to game with!

Rules for ops:
* only add people who have a vouch from a senior member
* promote known people with no rank to newcomer

I have more questions!
Ask in the D2 or D3 chat channel, or search this forum for gauss commands.

One last thing...
In your application, clearly state that you have read and understood the gauss channel rules, consequences and information. If you don't do this, your application will rejected with the message "Gauss error #1". This means: you have not read this info and will not be accepted.
You will get a gauss error#2 if your application has been denied because it failed to reach the standard expected. Re-read this post. Please tell us about yourself and why you want to be in gauss as well as a bit about your history with the Diablo franchise. Try again in 1 week at the earliest. Each failure or early retry doubles your wait time.
